AiM Plug and Play Displays Now Compatible With AEM Engine Management Systems

MXL Digital Dashes and Data Loggers Offer Quick and Easy Connection to AEM ECUs

Lake Elsinore, CA – May 2006 – AiM Sports now offers plug and play digital displays that work with AEM plug and play engine management systems. AiM Sports’ MXL family of digital displays and race data acquisition systems are now fully compatible with all AEM engine management systems via a serial RS-232 connection. To enable the integration, AEM users must have firmware version 1.19 or higher.

The plug and play connectivity simplifies installation of the MXL system as users need only install one harness between the MXL and the AEM ECU. Once connected, the MXL displays (and can record, depending on the model) RPM, boost (engine load / MAP), throttle position (TPS), air and water temperatures, battery voltage, speed, gear, 2 lambda (fuel/air ratio) channels and 2 error channels. By deploying additional sensors (or tapping into existing ones) drivers can monitor other information via additional inputs on the MXL.

For street use, the MXL Strada digital display offers 8 inputs, a wide, fully configurable LCD display, low profile aluminum case, 10 programmable shift lights, 6 programmable warning lights and lap timing ($1099).

For racers, the MXL Pista data logger offers full racing data acquisition with 8 MB of memory, track mapping, predictive lap timing and all the features of the MXL Strada mentioned above ($1999). The advanced MXL Pro race data acquisition system offers 16 MB of memory and 12 inputs ($2499). The MXL Pista and Pro data loggers ship race ready, including harness, lap timing system, USB data download cable and Race Studio analysis software.
