World Karting Association Declares MyChron4 ‘the Official Gauge of WKA’

Charlotte, NC – April 2006 – The World Karting Association has announced that the MyChron4 karting gauge is the Official Gauge of WKA. This recognition continues the strong relationship between AiM Sports and WKA. The MyChron4, made by AiM Sports, is a cost effective data acquisition tool that helps racers improve their racing skills and the set up of their kart.

The MyChron4 is the newest karting gauge offered by AiM Sports, offering numerous improvements over the popular MyChron3 system. The MyChron4 reads and records temperature, RPM and lap times and offers a high-resolution backlit screen that displays this information during the race. Afterward, the MyChron4 shows race summaries, performance graphs and a step-by-step replay of race events, allowing racers to easily understand what is happening on the track.

The MyChron4 offers specialized modes for Oval, Sprint and Road Race karts, and configurable warning lights for temperature and RPM. Predictive Lap Timing is an exclusive feature that calculates the total lap time before the racer has completed the lap, helping racers determine if they are faster or slower on a lap. Enhanced battery life, durability and expandability are other key features; look for additional expansion modules that plug into the MyChron4 to give greater capability, including additional temperatures, wheel speed, track mapping and more.

The MyChron4 is now available for $389 (retail pricing) and works with existing trackside beacons and existing MyChron sensors and leads. Later in spring, AiM Sports will offer a special oval style steering wheel with top and bottom mounts for the MyChron gauges.
