AiM Sports Sponsors 2005 Porsche Racing Challenge Series

(Lake Elsinore, CA, March 2005) -- AiM Sports (www.aimsports.com), the world leader in motor sports data acquisition, electronic instrumentation, lap timers and digital gauges, is the title sponsor for the NASA 2005 Porsche Racing Challenge Series.

“We are excited to partner with AiM Sports. Their support enables us to continue to provide exciting and competitive racing. The Porsche Racing Club boasts high profile racers such as Kevin Bucker, recent American LeMans Porsche GT winner, and Shawn Price, 2005 Rolex 24 Hour GT Class winner with Farnbacher Racing USA,” said Jeff Stevenson, PRC Co-founder.

“AiM is committed to delivering high performance, high value data acquisition products to the automotive racer. We strive to deliver F1 performance at a price affordable to the average club racer, enabling amateur racers the opportunity to analyze and improve their driving,” said Michael Jaynes, President of AiM Sports.

AiM products of special interest to Porsche racers are the MXL line of digital gauges and data loggers, which offer compatibility with ECUs by MoTeC, Bosch, Autronic and many more. The DaVid video and data logging system mixes two on-board video signals with real time performance data to provide a compelling video output that can be recorded or broadcast. DaVid is an invaluable training tool to driver education experts and race school trainers as well as a great souvenir opportunity for corporate event providers. In addition, the compact MyChron Light TG lap timer makes a great tool for the occasional racer or autocross driver with its small size, brilliant display, and 2000 lap memory.

The Porsche Racing Challenge Series provides high quality racing competition at select NASA events. The Series is a result of collaboration between the San Francisco Bay Area Porsche Racing Club (PRC) and the NASA NorCal Region. The Porsche Racing Challenge Series was inaugurated in April 2002.

For convenience, GT and Production classes are similar to those used in the Porsche Club of America's PCA Club Racing program. For example, there is a special class for those racing Porsche's equally prepared, production-based "GT3 Cup" cars. There is also a Toyo Spec Racing class sponsored by Toyo Tires in which competitors are allowed only limited modifications to production based 911’s.

The 2005 Porsche Racing Challenge Series kicks off the 2005 season at Infineon Raceway April 9-10. The entire 2005 schedule and other details can be found on the PRC web site, www.porscheracingclub.com.
