WKA
In the past 2 days the World Karting Association has announced 2 major changes for the 2007 season. First after much lobbying by its membership they have added a Manufacturers Cup race at New Castle Indiana. Undoubetdly one of two fine facilities located in the state.
Secondly with regards to WKA's effort to cut down on the tire prepping problems they have modified the tire rule for next year which will allow the competitors to bring their own tires to the track. They still must be new and not scuffed and are subject to random inspections with the new sniffer which is in use now. Tire prep is a huge issue affecting our sport and I applaud any club, group or organization trying to control it. Personally I am glad its not my problem to figure out as its so difficult to try and please everyone. I believe that they are doing this for the long term future of our sport and health of its members.
So with these two changes, one to a growing Manufacturers Cup series and one to the Briggs and Stratton National Dirt series which has seen markedly lower numbers this year I see nothing but a great year ahead for both.
