iPhone #3

Iphone3

"MyChron Mike" McKnight supporting the Mid-America Speedway Series race in Wellington, Kansas this weekend, was rained out today. So he grabbed his umbrella this afternoon and lined up at the local AT&T store to get his hands on a new iPhone. Interviewed by News Channel 12, he did squeeze in an "AiM Sports" plug. Ten minutes prior to the 6:00pm sale time, he received his golden ticket equivalent - ticket number 3 for a new iPhone.

Electromotive TEC3

TEC3

The much requested Electromotive TEC3 ECU is now fully supported! You can now connect your MXL, MyChron3 XG Log, or DaVid system directly to your Electromotive TEC3 ECU. The TEC3 streams up to 28 channels of data via direct serial connection. Having such an ECU connection scores nearly all engine data, and also frees up analog inputs for other input types like; steering position, shock travel/velocities, additional temps, additional pressures, infrared tire temps, and more. Connecting the TEC3 is as simple as connecting two wires.

Hondata ECU Conection

Hondata

The Hondata protocol is now out of beta and working great! You can now connect your MXL, MyChron3 XG Log, or DaVid system directly to your Hondata KPro ECU and receive up to 23 channels of data from the ECU. Having such an ECU connection also frees up analog inputs for other input types like; steering position, shock travel/velocities, additional temps, additional pressures, infrared tire temps, and more. The KPro connection requires an inline circuit between the ECU and AiM dash/logger. The connection is available now for $75 USD. --Update Nov. 29th, 2007 - Works with model PRB KPro.

RS2 Vista Update

Vistadavid 450

A Vista compatible update to Race Studio 2 is coming real soon, perhaps even ahead of our July schedule. The above screen capture shows the DaVid video configuration screen, which was otherwise impossible in Vista. There is still some testing to do, including some backwards compatibility testing with Win XP and Win 98, but the progress is looking good.

Spacebar Trick in RS2

SpaceBarTrick

Here's another Race Studio 2 analysis tip that I often find people aren't aware of. Use the SPACEBAR to hide and unhide the Measures and Laps window. This is a great efficiency tip that allows you to maximize your screen for plotting graphs, and viewing charts and reports. This feature is also smart, so when you do hide the Measures window, channel tags appear directly on your graph. The channel tags show the values for the enabled channels so you can still scroll through your data and know the exact channel values at the cursor. I use this tip every day.

Snap On, Snap Off

Snaponoff

Due to the beacon shift function not working in the current version of Race Studio 2 (I was told this will be fixed in the next release), I had my first go at making a screencast with Camtasia this morning to illustrate to a customer how the snap on/off feature works and how it can be used to accomplish the same thing.

Beyond the temporary shift of data for alignment purposes, there are many other uses for this feature, and from my weekends at the race track, very few know about this feature. Other uses come from wanting to line up linearized data based on something other than time or distance, brake pressures, and steering angle for example.

In any case, this 35 second full screen video shows the basics of the Snap ON/OFF feature and how to turn it on and off.
